ABOUT GROUP 314

Group 314 Pty Ltd

Our Purpose

Group 314 offers quality training and assessment services to Australian and International enterprises.

What We Do

Group 314 is an enthusiastic team of professional trainers and assessors providing assistance to individuals and businesses though the provision of accredited and non-accredited courses. We draw upon a vast amount of experience from within our network to provide a wide range of training and assessment services.

We offer a range of delivery types including classroom-based, workplace and online. The delivery type is based on the needs of students and the specific requirements of the course. We specialise in the conduct of assessment, particularly through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Training Philosophy

Group 314 takes prides in ensuring that skills and knowledge delivered in our courses have been ‘learnt’, not just ‘taught’. We focus on the learning needs of individual students and utilise Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) techniques. We believe that a lifetime of experience should be recognised and draw upon evidence of existing competency where possible. In order to make an assessment decision we get to know our students as people, we don’t just ‘tick the box’. We make sure that students are competent and have the confidence to use their skills in the real world. We want our students to experience personal success, so we make sure they have the skills to achieve this.

We tailor our courses to the unique needs of individuals and organisations. This is achieved by conducting pre-training interviews with students and organisations to ensure the course is delivered within the right context, is relevant and that students have the necessary skills for their actual roles once they have been deemed competent. This allows us to tailor the duration and content for each course on an individual basis.

Our History

Group 314 was formed in 2007 and accredited as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in 2009. Since its establishment, Group 314 has provided, and continues to provide, quality training and assessment services to Australian and International enterprises in sectors such as:

We have worked with open cut and underground mining companies in Australia and overseas to deliver specialist training programs such as risk management, emergency response, working at heights and confined space. We have also provided safety supervisors for high risk shutdowns.

We have provided programs such as risk management, safe work at heights, confined space and plant operations. Our certification is used by operators working on projects in the rail and mining sectors.

We have worked throughout NSW with a range of emergency services, both paid and voluntary. Our focus has been on efficient ‘hands on’ skills and knowledge to make our emergency service personnel more effective and help keep them safe.

We have been involved in the provision of training at all levels of Government. Training has ranged from skills for operators through to the development of supervisors.

We have provided bookkeeping and accounting programs throughout Australia. We offer a range of courses, including those specifically approved by the Tax Practitioners Board, and are a long-standing strategic partner of the Australian Bookkeepers Network (ABN).

We have developed many trainers and assessors currently working in Australia and overseas. We focus on the practical application of training and assessment skills, particularly when facilitating skills and knowledge in high risk operational environments.

We have facilitated adventure-based learning activities and developed instructors in disciplines such as abseiling, rock climbing, caving, canyoning, white water kayaking, white water rafting, sea kayaking and back country skiing. These programs are conducted throughout Australia.

We have delivered a range of courses for business, specialising in leadership and management as well as work, health and safety. We have tailored these courses to ensure they are relevant to the specific needs of our clients.

We have a proud history in the development and conduct of training courses for marine rescue agencies. We have assisted in the establishment of training systems and conducted training on land and vessels at sea.

We have provided adventure-based learning experiences and developed outdoor leaders for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). We have also assisted in the conduct of high-risk access training.

VET Partnerships

Group 314 can establish Vocational Education and Training (VET) Partnerships, either with individual trainers working with a handful of students, or with organisations involving thousands of students.

A VET Partnership is where the responsibility for training and assessment is shared between an RTO and another organisation (the VET Partner) through a written agreement. This allows the VET Partner to utilise their own internal resources for training and assessment (should they wish) but their students can still receive an accredited certificate from the RTO. A VET Partner can therefore realise the benefits of operating as an RTO but without the overall cost.

VET Partnerships are established on a case-by-case basis. The requirements of Group 314 and the VET Partner must be fully analysed, and an agreement developed to ensure each organisation is aware of their roles and responsibilities.

We offer quality training courses covering Business Services, Outdoor Leadership, Public Safety, Mining and Construction.
