WORKPLACE SUPERVISOR SKILL SET

Aim The aim of this program is to qualify supervisors and managers involved in developing the skills of their team. In particular, these competencies are identified as essential skills for those engaged in supervising apprentices.
Duration This is a 2-day program, one day is completed by distance, the other is a practical and interactive session.

Units of Competence
Pathway This Skill Set can be used as a pathway to TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
Pre-requisites Participants must have access to an operational training environment as well as a computer, internet connection, email and programs for generating documentation / presentations.
Learning There are flexible learning opportunities available, learning methods can include:

  • Work-based
  • Distance-learning
  • Coaching & mentoring
Assessment Participants are required to provide adequate evidence of competency; this must include the completion of all assessment tasks as detailed in the assessment tool (or by providing equivalent evidence).
Max Course Size This program is normally conducted for individuals with an allocated facilitator.
Supervision Ratio 1:1 (distance) or 1:10 (classroom)
Safety The inherant risks associated with this program are low, where the program is conducted within a class-room environment, facilitators are to ensure site emergency procedures are known by all participants. Where training & assessment tasks are completed within the workplace, associated risks are to be managed by site controllers and employers.
